THREAT HUNTING & EMULATION - WHEN THE SECURITY DISCIPLINES SHOULD CONVERGE

Threat hunting and emulation are trending topics in the world of cyber security, due in large part to an industry shift to the mindset that it is not a matter of 'If', but 'When' an organization can be breached. Threat hunting moves defensive and offensive tactics from a reactive to a proactive approach, but it requires more than just a methodology - it requires people, processes, tools, and data (yeah, tons of data) which present challenges to accomplishing comprehensive threat hunting activities. This presentation will discuss a hypothesis-driven approach to threat hunting that will aid in overcoming these challenges.
