Blackbasta ransomware is a malicious computer virus that is used to lock users out of their systems and demand a ransom to decrypt the files. It is typically spread through malicious email attachments or compromised websites, and is designed to encrypt files on the user's computer and demand payment for the release of encrypted files. Over the years it has evolved numerous times and our talk covers its evolution as well as what we are seeing today in its latest variants. 

Neumann Lim

Neumann Lim is a senior manager at Deloitte where he leads the development of the services, strategies and methodologies on cyber detection and incident response. Prior to this role, Neumann spent several years working with large enterprises and governments specializing in incident response.

With more than 15 years of infosec experience, he has delivered numerous cyber risk assessments, coordinated national incident responses across multiple industries. Neumann has been invited to share his thought leadership at many security conferences such as Grayhat Conf, DefCon BlueTeam Village, DefCon Security Leadership Village, HTCIA Canada, Toronto CISO Summit and CCTX.
