PANEL - I'M AN EARLY CAREER SECURITY PROFESSIONAL

On this panel, 3 early career cybersecurity professionals will talk about things they wish they'd known before they got started on this career path. They will also talk about what they wish the larger cybersecurity industry knew about being an early career professional. Attendees will leave with some concrete actions they can take to either further their own career in cybersecurity, or help their current or future early career team members. 

LIA SANA

Lia is an information security professional with more than 10 years of experience in governance, risk management and compliance, data protection, cloud security, Identity and access management and security audits. In her current role as the information security architect at Fraser Health Authority, Lia works to define and build layers of security to protect sensitive patient information and integrate security standards into business processes across the organization.

UNYIME UKPEH 

Uyi is an Information Security Analyst at Fraser Health. She has been in the IT industry since 2015. She is passionate about cybersecurity and obtained her Masters degree in Telecommunication and Information Security in 2021. She is passionate about imparting awareness on the importance of cybersecurity in today’s world.

PAYAL SONDHI

Payal is a highly skilled cybersecurity analyst with extensive experience in protecting organizations from cyber threats. With a masters degree in cybersecurity, Payal has a deep understanding of the latest cybersecurity technologies and techniques.

Payal’s expertise in the field of cybersecurity is evident from her work in a variety of roles over the years, including as an analyst, and forensics researcher. In her current role as a Cybersecurity Analyst, Payal is responsible for identifying and mitigating potential cyber threats, conducting risk assessments, and implementing security measures to safeguard the organization's systems and data.

JIMMY HO

At Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia, Jimmy works as a security analyst. He graduated with a Diploma in Computer Information Technology from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and is currently pursuing a BTech in Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity. As a security analyst, Jimmy is responsible for maintaining the SIEM, vulnerability management, vendor management, and conducting security awareness training. 

Additionally, he has volunteered for the ISACA Vancouver Chapter's CMS and Mentorship program during his free time, and he is continuously seeking out new opportunities to expand his industry knowledge
